    500bhp Porsche 968 For 2007 Britcar
Ask a cross section of dsc readers what it was that first attracted them to this wonderful area of motorsport and a fair number would come up with the answer “variety”, in particular the weird and wonderful solutions that racers have come up with to the question – How can I win?

We have been a little perplexed by the ads. running in motorsport weeklies recently seeking a driving partner for a Britcar season alongside Dominic Lesniewski, aboard a “500 bhp plus Porsche”. That puzzlement turned to outright cynicism when we saw the provisional entry list with Lesniewski’s name alongside nothing more than a Porsche 968. 500 bhp? Surely some mistake.

But the Autosport International Show gave us an opportunity to catch up with Dominic, and his father Adam, whereupon the picture became rather clearer. This is no ordinary Porsche 968!

“She’s a 968 RS Turbo built by Freisinger back in 1992,” says Adam with a twinkle in the eye.

The car was raced in Europe until 1998 before being shipped to the USA where it had a long and varied career, including a run in the 1998 Petit Le Mans.

“The car has a full race 3 litre turbo with fully adjustable boost. 500bhp is not a problem!” says a very enthusiastic Dominic Lesniewski. “I think a few people are going to be pretty surprised how quick it really is.”

The car will be entered under the DAAD Racing / TJ Motorsport banner: Trevor Griffiths is the man behind the TJ Motorsport name and it is he who has arranged for the 968 to return from its ‘American vacation’.

Dominic Lesniewski meanwhile, well known to dsc readers for his exploits in a Tech 9 Porsche, and now reigning Matador Powertec Radical Challenge Champion, is already inked in as lead driver.

“We thought it was important to do something different. Porsches are great endurance machines but not everyone wants to race in a 911 GT3. This is a really interesting alternative,” said Adam Lesniewski.

Whilst interest has been high there is still time to talk to the team to register interest – contact Adam at info@domlesniewski.com or Trevor at tjmotorsports@tiscali.co.uk

So würden alle LMP2 fahren.
(leider)
