Coming home after a sunny ride in a beautifull landscape, I tried to close the cabrio top as usual.
A split second after I hit the switch, I heard a short pop and released the close switch immediately.
At once I knew my mistake, I forgot to remove the cabrio hood (Persenning).
This all lasted maybe 3 seconds, but some damage was done...
First the good news:
as far as I can see, nothing is broken and the cabrio top can be opened and closed as usual.
The bad news:
When closing the top, it does not stop at about 2,5 cm above the windscreen, but stops with the two centering pins hitting the edge of the windscreen.
Also both pins are positioned just ahead of the holes, so I have to manually pull the top to the rear to get the pins into the holes and lock the top. This is difficult, some times impossible. Then I leave the top unlocked (only when not driving).
I removed the interior rear side panels to inspect some of the mechanics.
At first sight, no visible damage.
The above picture is the left side, and you can see the linking hits the safety belt mounting.
The picture below is the right side, and there is some clearance between the linking and the safety belt mounting.
Does anyone has any idea how to proceed and fix this problem, how to readjust the top?
I am sorry for my writing in English, my German is simply not good enough.
Best regards, 968driver.
