THREE EXCLUSIVE TIRES FOR THE NEW PORSCHE 911 DAKAR

The family resemblance to the classic Porsche 911 immediately catches the eye, but just as quickly it becomes clear: this particular silhouette is something very special. With the new 911 Dakar, Porsche is paying tribute to the experience the company gained in the legendary Paris-Dakar rally in the 1970s and 1980s: in particular, the first victory in this event in 1984 with a modified 911. The latest road car recalls this famous victory, with the Porsche 911 Dakar adapted to all the requirements of off-road driving. Additional equipment includes custom tires: the only point of contact between the car and the ground. Sixty years after the model's launch, a Porsche 911 is now being delivered for the first time with the Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus as original equipment: a tire specifically designed for extreme off-road conditions. But P Zero and P Zero Winter tires are also available for the Porsche 911 Dakar. This makes Pirelli the exclusive original equipment supplier for this model in all seasons and conditions.

SPECIAL DEVELOPMENT FOR THE NEW SCORPION ALL TERRAIN PLUS

To combine the versatility of an off-road car with the high performance that has always characterized this sporting icon, Porsche asked Pirelli to develop tailor-made tires. The choice fell on the Scorpion All Terrain Plus, the tire from the Scorpion range developed specifically for the most demanding roads.

With this product, Pirelli's R&D department presents a new family of compounds capable of handling the vehicle's performance on both loose surfaces and asphalt. In addition, the structure of the tire - especially for the rear axle - has been reinforced and optimized to improve the contact patch. Compared to the traditional Scorpion All Terrain Plus, the new tire for the Porsche 911 Dakar has a tread pattern that delivers competitive performance even on dry surfaces, making it as effective on the track as it is in the desert. All these characteristics have been achieved without compromising the fundamental aspects that a tire needs for everyday use: in particular, stability, safety and comfort. Throughout the outdoor testing program for this tire, Pirelli drove the 911 Dakar on all the main test sites in Europe, as well as on a variety of tracks representative of a wide range of conditions.

In addition to the Scorpion All Terrain Plus, the P Zero is also available for the Porsche 911 Dakar: Pirelli's iconic ultra-high performance product, already homologated for the original equipment of various Porsche models. Available in both summer and winter versions, the P Zero has been developed specifically for the unique characteristics of the latest Porsche with its split personality.

GOODWOOD SECURES PIRELLI AS TIRE PARTNER FOR FESTIVAL OF SPEED

Pirelli will be the exclusive tire partner for the annual flagship event, the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, which takes place this year from July 13-16. The Goodwood Estate also announced today a multi-year partnership with global tire manufacturer Pirelli.

Pirelli, known for its cutting-edge technology and high-end production, has been the exclusive tire partner of Formula 1 since 2011 and is also the sole supplier to the World Rally Championship. The Italian group is now developing a series of exciting activities on and off the track with Goodwood. For example, Pirelli will be present at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with two exhibition areas showcasing the company's key elements: 150 years of high-tech product development, racing spirit, art and culture, and sustainability. One area will be dedicated to the iconic P Zero tire family. Three new products will be unveiled there, heralding the upcoming renewal of Pirelli's entire high-end tire range.
